About Dr. Bosco

Dr. Joseph Bosco is Vice Chairman for Clinical Affairs of the NYUHJD Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at New York University Medical Center. He was the associate director of the New York University / Hospital for Joints Diseases Orthopedic Residency Program from 2000 - 2005 and served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, from 1998 - 2006.

Dr. Bosco has served as team physician for the Durham Bulls and Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball teams. From 2002 until 2004, he was a team physician for the New York Mets professional baseball team. He currently serves a team physician for several area high schools. He is a member of many professional societies, including The American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, The American Orthopedic Association, The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, The New York Academy of Medicine, The Eastern Orthopedic Association and the New York State Society of Orthopedic Surgeons. He was chosen to, and completed, the prestigious American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery Leadership Fellows Program, and the NYU Clinical Leadership Development Program. He is on the Board of Directors for the New York State Society of Orthopedic Surgeons, and serves on numerous national committees.

Dr. Bosco attended Medical School at the University of Vermont, and completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then obtained a one year fellowship at The University of Arizona. Upon completion of his fellowship he returned to New York and began practice at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he received an award as outstanding faculty in orthopedic surgery. In 1998, he joined the Orthopedics department at New York University, where he remains today. He has published extensively and lectured, both nationally and internationally, on a variety of sports medicine subjects, including knee and shoulder injuries.
